I’ve been fortunate enough to have worked with some incredible musicians during my career, and whilst on this journey to become a solo artist, I have met many talented people. I reached out to some of these- people I have known for years and those I have met in the last few years. It’s been truly humbling to have had so many positive reactions to this idea of making a remix album, and to have received such an eclectic variety of styles and sounds. Each remix has been left entirely to the creator’s discretion, I have had no input and given no direction. I'm particularly pleased to have some young artists amongst these, and some that I have met through the vibrant and growing EMOM scene which also gave me the encouragement and support to be able to create the original album. In early 2023 I dusted off my electric viola and a few effects pedals.
This debut album is the result. A collection of sonic explorations shaped by two years of live performance and experimentation, both in Whitstable and at other events, every piece has been created with the feel of a live performance in the recording process. Aside from the album’s final track, ‘glitch’, all have been composed using electric viola, voice and effects pedals, creating atmospheric soundscapes with abrasive, noisy textures - an interplay that mirrors both internal chaos and meditative calm.
